We are looking for a new member of our Lighting Guru Family.  This is a long-term position that requires a long-term attitude.  Landscape Lighting Guru is hiring for the position of an Inventory Control Assistant.  The position requires an extremely organized person to manage the current inventory in the shop and create an inventory process.  The position also requires the employee to perform various physical tasks to include moving and stocking inventory, facility maintenance, vehicle maintenance, and grounds maintenance. This position is a full-time position with 35 to 40 hours/week and has flexible hours.  Mondays and Fridays must be part of the workweek, but other days are negotiable. A 6:45 am start time is expected.  3 pm to 4 pm end of the day.

The Inventory Control Assistant compiles records from ordering, shipping, and receiving materials.  Updates information on the computer to maintain inventory records. Assesses stock supply and reorder status. The Inventory Control Assistant is responsible for prepping lights and materials for upcoming projects.  They must be good with their hands and be willing to do different jobs including facility maintenance and vehicle maintenance.

This position requires:

  • Organizational Skills
  • Above average intelligence and basic math skills
  • Over the age of 18

  • Ability to safely lift over 50lbs
  • Clean Driving record and license
  • Excel Skills (not a must) and Outlook skills
  • Must be self-motivated (will work independent of others most of the time)
  • Work outside in all types of weather.
  • Be good with your hands and a mechanical thinker.
  • Be able to be on your feet most of the day.
  • Must have flexible attitude – this position will have a variety of duties.
  • Ability to use a smart phone and send pictures and e-mails.

If you are a motivated self-starter who likes to stay busy and would enjoy a team atmosphere, you may be right for this position.  Starting pay ranges between $16-$20 depending on your experience. Additional pay is available if you can help with other computer-related jobs.  An end-of-year bonus can be available if you are found to be exceptional in time management and quality skill with minimal re-work.  After initial 6 months, you can be eligible for paid vacation and paid holidays.

Specifics:

Inventory and job prep:

  • Material management for each job and for the shop
  • Fixture prep for each job
  • Cleaning and spray paint
  • Managing all returns and credits
  • Setting up job boxes for every project
  • Making sure we have all the materials for each project well ahead of each project.
  • Flags to mark locations for each fixture for each project (will be explained)

Vehicle maintenance includes:

  • Organizing trucks
  • Washing the trucks
  • Filling with gas
  • Checking tire pressure
  • Managing relationship with auto dealer
  • Driving to the dealership for other service.

Facility maintenance includes:

  • Blowing off driveways and walkways daily
  • Keeping the garage clean
  • Keeping the carport clean
  • Keeping shipping containers clean and organized.
  • Breaking down recycling and trash
  • Taking trash to the curb
  • Cleaning office floors and bathrooms

Special Projects:

  • Help opening our new location.
  • Basically, any extra projects around my house or office to help my life be easier and keep me focused on the business.
