Recessed Outdoor Lighting

Recessed Lighting

Recessed lighting is not just for inside of the home. When used effectively, outdoor recessed lighting can be an amazing way to provide lighting for visual effects and home security.  With a low profile and a subtle design, lights blend into the background of favorite outside areas.

Location

One of the locations recessed lighting is used the most for walkways, driveways, and stairways.  The fixtures create just the right light to safely navigate your path.

You can add small recessed lights in your decking. This is often done around the stairs, posts or railings. This is another great way to bring that added element of light to your outdoor space.

Another great application for these fixtures is outdoor walls.  They can be shone down onto the pathway or shone up to highlight the features of the wall.

Design

The options for recessed lighting is endless.  There are many different sizes and shapes available along with different options for the light color and wattage.  Gone are the days of a large light glaring into your face as you walk along a pathway.  From the shape to the size to how the light is dispersed – there are options for all of them.

Installation

Another consideration is how the fixture is mounted.   Most recessed lighting will be cored into the driveway, wall, deck and sit flush.  However, as these fixtures have gotten smaller (some less than 2”!), depending on the location, they can be surface mounted, expanding the possible locations they can be used.

The easiest way to install recessed fixtures is to plan them out as part of the construction process for your project.  However, these fixtures can be added after construction when you use an experienced lighting installation crew.

Landscape Lighting Guru only offers recessed lighting that are durable and come with manufacturer warranties.  These fixtures are designed to be stepped on and driven over.  Please give us a call today for your free consultation – at 210-710-7737.

The downlights from the beautiful trees provide just the right amount of light for ambiance and safety as you walk to the front door.  The up lights on the Crape Myrtle trees open up the yard and showcase the span of this property.  The additional downlights create a dramatic moon lighting effect across the lawn.

An area often overlooked by homeowners when adding outdoor lights is the area around the garage and driveway.  This is usually the way most homeowners come in and out of their home and yet it can be darkest place on the property!  The down lighting from these tall Oak trees provide a perfect amount of light to welcome you home and safely traverse the driveway and into the garage.  The shadows created by the trees create such a magical ambiance!
