Darryl Cook, aka the LANDSCAPE LIGHTING GURU, is ready to help light up your outdoor spaces! When the exterior of your home is well lit, you will enjoy the enhanced safety and security, but if you let Darryl apply his artistry, expertise, and commitment to outstanding quality he’s refined over 20 years, you get so much more.

We all love the beauty of this place we live, especially the trees, and the homes we’ve built here. Imagine how great your home will look, when it and all your trees are all lit up. And, you’ve spent all that money on landscaping, the pool, and the outdoor kitchen and eating area, so make sure you can fully enjoy them once the sun goes down.

Raised in North San Antonio, he and his wife, Karen, now live up here in Spring Branch and have a 13-year-old son, Grayson, who attends SV Middle School. In the mid 90’s, Darryl and a couple of partners started a successful landscape company. They were known for creating unique outdoor experiences; from landscape and irrigation, to commercial and residential holiday lighting. When they decided to sell the business, he focused his new enterprise on what he enjoyed most, exterior illumination.

And, with 20 years of experience masterfully accenting a property’s unique elements at night, he naturally named his company LANDSCAPE LIGHTING GURU, when he started it in 2015. It’s a company that combines artistry with technology to present clients with more dramatic outdoor lighting than they could have imagined. LLG does it faster and better than expected and won’t walk away till the customer is totally satisfied!

Some customers are very particular and believe they know exactly what they want, saying, “Put this light here and aim it there.” That’s fine with Darryl as long as they’re thrilled. But, since his passion is an artful combination of light and shadows, he loves it when a client says, “Here’s your budget. Now blow me away!” He really enjoys mixing various light color tones and intensities to accent elements of a property. Sometimes, Darryl will suggest something that’s a little outside a customer’s comfort zone. But, if they trust the GURU, they won’t be disappointed!

LANDSCAPE LIGHTING GURU also has the experience and expertise to develop and install designs for new construction. He coordinates with multiple trades before concrete, stone and framing is done. He’s also an expert at refurbishing and updating older lighting projects. Often, the lighting is done with no thought to how trees grow, but Darryl knows each type of tree and how to install the fixtures so that it lasts and keeps the trees healthy.

The LANDSCAPE LIGHTING GURU loves to hear the client’s compliments when the job’s done. Many even have him move on to their lake home or ranch. Most of his business comes from referrals, because they consistently do great work and don’t cut corners.
