Johnny was a complete delight to work with on day of install and thoroughly explained all the steps. Wonderful Job
Landscape Lighting Guru did a wonderful job! During the initial meeting, Darryl listened and took very detailed notes. The estimate was easy to read, included a menu of options, and he provided videos of what we spoke about and where lights would be and provided links to show what the equipment would look like. He answered many questions and responded quickly. Johnny lead the installation and was very prompt, courteous, and provided frequent check-ins. The job site was very tidy upon completion. Darryl was very prompt in responding to my call, making an appointment to evaluate my yard, and giving me a video description of his creative ideas for lighting. The “gurus” created a magical space for us! Of all the projects remodeling our new home (and their have been many), our twinkling back yard oasis is the one that makes us feel happy! His crew was very punctual, courteous, and exceptionally organized. Their pre-arrival prep was evident as soon as they showed up. They clearly had reviewed the job prior to arrival, and each one of the workers knew where to go and what to do from the start. Communication with the homeowner was constant throughout the day, asking questions when needed, and explaining what they were doing as they progressed on the project.

Outstanding Contractor Experience
Darrel came out quickly, examined our existing lighting system, and gave us options to add and improve the entire system. No pressure, no doublespeak he just gave us a professional, affordable approach to a great new look. Once we decided what we wanted, Johnny and his crew went way above what was required to install what we had contracted and even suggested several changes that took their time and work but didn’t make it into the bill. One minor glitch was noted on the first night the system auto activated and Johnny once again fixed it before the next night. We couldn’t be happier with the finished product.

We just finished having Landscape Lighting Guru light up our home and the surrounding landscape. It was a “game changer” in the appearance of our place. The lighting throughout brings our place to life when the sun sets. Darryl was extremely professional and informative throughout the entire process. We were less than satisfied with the installation of our path lighting project but, as Darryl promised, we are happy with the end result. Three years ago I hired the Guru crew to install lights in the back of the house. The area literally came alive. Before, we never used the back area because it was so dark. Now it is our favorite area to entertain.
Six years ago I installed my own landscape lighting in the front yard. I was pretty proud of myself. Everything worked properly, it turned on when it was supposed to and turned off when it was supposed to. It actually looked pretty good so we kept for six years. In the back of my mind I always wondered what the guru could do with the front. So. I finally broke down and hired the guru crew again. They removed what I had installed and installed everything properly. They did such a great job. What a huge difference. If you are thinking about doing it yourself, DON’T. Let these guys do it properly. You won’t be disappointed.

Worth of Plaudit
“Getting along in years (83) I must adapt to my surroundings. I have three areas in the back yard that contain steps. I am now to the point where I have to be careful not to fall going up and down these steps. As a consequence, I wanted to install hand rails at all three locations. At each location light posts are required as well. These posts (total 9) are approximately 3′ tall made of cantara stone with LED lights on the top. This being an unusual installation I believe it to be a challenging job. I considered hiring a stone mason and an outdoor lighting company. One to do the post installation and the other to do the LED lights. My first contact was that of a lighting company, Landscape Lighting Guru. After discussing the job with the owner I was assured that they could perform both the installation of the post and the lights.
Their performance was nothing short of exceptional. Concealing the light wiring while maintaining the integrity of the landscape (of which there is considerable), not to mention the installation of the lamp post (not associated with lighting) was as promised. Simply the best at his craft. I asked Darryl to come out and give us some suggestions on uplighting our large live oaks and downlighting our patio to include a newly constructed fireplace. He developed a plan that included all our current requirements and could accommodate our future needs when we add our gazebo. Found Landscape Lighting Guru in the Yellow Pages. Called on a Saturday morning, figuring I would get a call back on Monday. Owner Darryl Cook called me back within the hour and we immediately set up an appointment. I found Darryl to be one of the most creative people I have ever met. We walked the property. He saw things I would have never seen and he provided me with a comprehensive proposal stating that I should choose what I wanted to do from the myriad of options. I did just that. Using Darryl’s design, the crew, David and Raul, worked diligently and completed the work in four days. The property looks terrific. Fabulous Design and Installation
We were impressed with their work on a small, functional lighting project. You know you’re in good hands when you get both beautiful design and function. So we moved on to a bigger lighting design project – our 175ish-year old live oak. Darryl’s design abilities and the company’s technical abilities exceeded our expectations. That Alamo battle-era oak tree looks as magnificent after sunset as it does during the day. And our little, “functional” project is as beautiful as it is functional. We had a great experience with Darryl and the company. He contacted me soon after I sent a request out. He was able to accommodate an appt soon after that. He got us on the schedule less than a month later. The lights are just gorgeous. We could not be happier! We had some trouble shooting with the timer afterward, nothing faulty. Very Diligent
We used Landscaping Lighting Guru to do some repair work on our landscape lighting. The crew was led by Johnny Leal. The crew was very diligent in their work and cleaned up after their work was complete. When we checked on the lighting the night after they finished, we found that two lights had not been reconnected. We notified Johnny and he came out on his own time and repaired the connection. That is excellent customer service.
Know their Business
Very good job. They know their business, and have several ways to provide each sort of lighting. They are very willing to do what you want done, whereas many other lighting companies just do what they prefer to do, regardless of whether it is the proper solution for your yard. Most interesting is that, for the tree-mounted lights, they attach both the wires and the light fixtures to the tree with standoffs so that the tree can grow for many years before anything is at risk of being dislodged due to growth — they are the only company I talked to who do it this way, and it is, by itself, enough reason to use them.

Worth the Wait!
I waited six weeks to get on the calendar because I had confidence in the owner of the company after he personally came out to see the scope of my job. I took all of his recommendations and I’m glad I did. Our yard looks beautiful, nicely lit, but subtle. His crew was very pleasant and professional. There is no evidence that trenches were dug to cover cable, there was no debris left in yard. No loud music playing-just work. The crew kept us informed during the day of the process without interfering with our privacy. This is the company to use to install landscape lighting!
